This weekend workshop will teach you the qualities and benefits of earth plasters & natural finishes as well as getting experience working with them by applying different types to our straw bale and straw clay experiment buildings!

The major emphasis of the weekend is learning how to work with earth plasters.  You will learn how to determine if there is enough clay in the earth you are using, what are the basics of a typical recipe mix, different types of binders, how to sift and how to apply different layers with trowel techniques.

We will also demonstrate, teach and practice with a variety of sustainable paint finishes for wood as well as plasters.
