From 7 to 8 pm, Architect, Ingrid Cryns will give a 1 hour evening talk  on the many different ways to use straw as a building material. There will be a short presentation afterwards on soma earth Energy Balancing Tools called 'Safe Space' that offer EMF Protection from 8 to 8:30 pm.


From Straw bale wall systems that include earth plasters, to straw clay wall systems, to cob, to insulated straw panels and hemp insulation.  Straw is a truly sustainable, local and fully biodegradable material that provides high insulation values as well as when combined with an earth plaster skin has unique hygrophilic abilities that allows moisture to wick in and wick right back out again.

Come and learn about the history of building with straw, how to build Straw Bale buildings in Ontario, permit & design issues, who are the straw bale builders here, what the OSBBC is all about!
